IT Tech / Build Specialist
As an IT Tech / Build Specialist your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities related to technical support, build management and version control system administration. In this multifaceted position you would be responsible for maintaining the organisation’s IT infrastructure, managing the build process for game projects, and ensuring the stability and optimal performance of the version control system.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up computers and necessary peripheral devices for a fully remote studio. (routers, printers etc.)
- Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
- Organise and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging, etc.)
- Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders
- Setup and manage automated build process
- Ensure on time delivery and quality of major and continuous game build deliveries.
- Monitor & Maintain Perforce Server (manage users, depots, triggers, etc.)
- Collaborate with development teams to define and enforce effective version control workflows and best practices.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position
- Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with users at various levels of technical proficiency
- In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
- Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
- Strong knowledge of build systems, version control systems (e.g.,Perforce), and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
- Proficiency in debugging build issues and resolving build-related errors and dependencies
- Familiarity with Perforce server installation, configuration, and maintenance on various platforms (Windows, Linux, macOS).
Plus
- Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform
- Passion for video games and a keen interest in staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
