ANIMATOR (Contract)

creā-ture Studios Inc. is a small, hybrid studio focused on making games in a different way. As part of the Nacon group, creā-ture Studios Inc. is focused on PC and Console original IP. 

We’re looking for an Animation Contractor (minimum 6-month mandate) to bring expressive, high-impact performances to life in our next project. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong artistic instincts with technical fluency and enjoys shaping animation within a collaborative, gameplay-driven environment. 

As part of a small, cross-disciplinary team, you’ll play a hands-on role in defining the feel and personality of our characters and creatures. You’ll work closely with design, art, and engineering to ensure animation not only looks great, but enhances gameplay, supports systems, and fits seamlessly within our production framework. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and deliver high-quality, realistic animations 
  • Contribute to the design and development of animation systems 
  • Test, iterate, and refine animations, troubleshooting issues as they arise 
  • Identify and resolve both technical and artistic animation challenges 
  • Integrate animations into Unreal Engine in line with creative direction 
  • Retarget, edit, and polish existing animation assets 
  • Collaborate closely with design and programming teams to optimize animation data and workflows 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong keyframe animation skills across bipeds, quadrupeds, and creatures 
  • Previous AAA experience or equivalent professional experience 
  • High proficiency with Maya 
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills 
  • Solid technical understanding of animation state machines and their implementation 
  • Strong familiarity with Unreal Engine 
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently in a remote work environment
