Senior Environment Artist
As part of the Nacon group, creā-ture Studios Inc. is focused on PC and Console original IP. We are looking for an experienced Environment Artist with a deep understanding of video game world composition, lighting, and art production pipelines, with crossover skills in level art.
Our ideal candidate thrives in a creative environment, is comfortable working from both structured world design concepts and loose ideas, and is excited to transition seamlessly between DCC work and in-game production. You will work closely with senior leadership and technical direction to define the visual language of the game world, crafting immersive, visually stunning environments that align with artistic, creative, and gameplay intentions. A passion for or experience with lighting is highly valued.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the Art Director to bring the game world’s artistic vision to life with cohesive, immersive environments.
- Design, model, and texture varied environment assets, ensuring high quality and gameplay compatibility.
- Integrate assets into the game engine, ensuring efficient implementation of models, textures, and shaders to achieve cohesive visuals and optimised performance.
- Work cross-functionally to balance artistic goals with technical needs.
- Help refine tools, pipelines, and workflows for efficient environment art production.
- Enhance mood and gameplay with effective lighting.
- Mentor junior artists in environment creation techniques.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience shipping titles as an Environment or Level Artist, focused on creating immersive game environments.
- Strong understanding of world design, production pipelines, and lighting principles.
- Skilled in sculpting, modelling, and texturing tools (e.g., ZBrush, Maya, Substance).
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine (4-5), PBR pipelines, and balancing aesthetics with technical constraints.
- Effective communicator, comfortable collaborating across teams.
- Self-sufficient and adaptable, with a structured yet flexible approach to design.
- Experience with Houdini and procedural workflows is a plus.
