VFX Artist
As part of the Nacon group, creā-ture Studios Inc. focuses on PC and Console original IP. We are seeking a skilled VFX Artist to support our Technical Art Director on our yet to be announced new project!
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement a range of visual effects in Unreal Engine 5 using Niagara, Material Editor, and Blueprints.
- Collaborate with the Technical Art Director to brainstorm, design, and develop various visual effects (environmental effects, player abilities etc.)
- Optimize VFX to maintain performance standards and improve frame rates.
- Create textures, models, and meshes as needed for high-quality effects.
- Support the team with R&D, prototyping new tools and techniques, and implementing shaders and simulations.
- Maintain and update VFX documentation, workflows, and pipelines.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest VFX techniques and tools, integrating them to enhance the game’s visual impact.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience as a VFX artist in game development, with AAA or console/PC titles preferred.
- Strong portfolio or reel showcasing real-time VFX work and creative problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Unreal Engine (UE4/UE5), particularly with Niagara, Blueprint, and shader creation.
- Experience common simulation techniques such as but not limited to cloth, water simulation, vector fields, etc.
- Proficient in industry-standard 3D and 2D DDC’s (e.g., 3ds Max, Blender, Substance Designer, Photoshop, EmberGen, Houdini).
- Strong artistic foundation, with a good eye for animation principles, movement, rhythm, and real-world VFX motion.
- Excellent understanding of real-time rendering and optimization constraints for VFX.
- Strong collaborative skills; able to work well with artists, designers, and engineers to solve complex challenges.
- Proactive, autonomous, and detail-oriented with a drive to deliver high-quality VFX.
